Clients around the world have been bowled over by what our engineers can do when it comes to site accommodation, and this sporting client in Hungary was no exception.

The challenge

It’s not every day that you’re asked to create a portable HQ area big enough for dozens of people in the middle of a major European city. So when our engineers at TITAN4People took the call from the committee behind the 2023 World Athletics Championships to do exactly that, they jumped at the chance.

The brief stipulated that the HQ would stand proudly at the finish line for the marathon and long-distance walking events, and that cold storage for food and drinks would need to be factored in, too.

For the TITAN4People team – veterans of transforming containers into everything from offices to sanitary rooms and more – the real challenge was to create something that not only met the client’s needs but looked fantastic, too.

The solution

Working with a total of 12 x 20ft containers for the main superstructure, the team developed an interconnected solution that was 2 units high x 2 units deep x 3 units long. This provided a total floor space across the two floors of approximately 1,750 square feet, and with floor-to-ceiling windows across the front, an unbeatable viewing experience.

Supporting this imposing main building would be utility containers, site offices and refrigerated containers.

The delivery

TITAN Containers supplies and transports shipping containers of every shape and size to sites all over the world. We’re highly adept at working with clients’ logistics teams and are able to place our containers in a multitude of difficult positions. In Budapest, installation posed no challenges. In fact, everything went reassuringly smoothly, thanks, in part, to a level tarmac base on which we were able to quickly start building our structure.

The results

Another successful sporting event for the TITAN team (others include the UEFA Super Cup in Greece and the Austrian GP) that showcased, once again, our bespoke TITAN4People’s capabilities in coming up with innovative solutions.
