Flat racks are highly specialised containers that are used for international shipping and also for domestic transportation.
They are not storage containers as such, as they have no roof or sides. They are more of a tough, reinforced steel platform with collapsible ends on which to place bulky items when they need to be moved.
TITAN has a selection of flat rack containers for hire at depots all over the country, many of which are hired for 1-way rentals.
That means you can collect from a TITAN depot in Brisbane, for example, and drop off at another one of our many bases in Europe, Asia or the Americas.
If you want to send an irregularly-shaped consignment to a distant destination – including oversized machinery, a large box full of supplies or anything else that would be classified as an abnormal load – it needs to be placed onto a 20ft or 40ft flat rack or platform container before it will be accepted onboard a container ship.

Collapsible ends for easy loading
Whenever you hire a flat rack container, easy loading is usually of paramount importance – because whatever you’re loading is usually extremely heavy and bulky.
For this reason, our flat rack containers to rent have spring-loaded drop-down/folding ends so that your oversized cargo can be easily loaded onto the steel or wooden floor/deck. This is called ‘flush folding’ and basically means that the end walls fit flush with the floor surface to make a platform container.
