How Royal Unibrew keep their beer and soft drinks ice-cold

A key ingredient at any festival is the chilled refreshments, especially when the sun is blazing down. There is nothing quite like it. But how does Royal Unibrew ensure their beverages are kept at just the right temperature?
The challenge
Royal Unibrew is Denmark’s second-largest brewery group. Each year, their Royal Beer, Pepsi Max, Faxe Kondi – along with many other fan favourites – are passed over the counters at a myriad of festivals and markets across the country.
It is crucial, of course, that both beer and soft drinks are kept ice-cold. Recognising this, Royal Unibrew plays a pivotal role in assisting busy festival organisers. They do this not by providing their own refrigerated containers, but by acting as a facilitator in renting these containers from us on behalf of the organisers – for example, at festivals like Rock i Lunden and Juelsminde Harbour Festival.
In this regard, both Royal Unibrew and the organisers depend on everything working seamlessly (requiring a performance as rock solid as whoever tops the bill):
The audience must have a great experience. That means it is critical that the refrigerated containers are delivered on time and function properly – so that both beer and soft drinks can be served at the perfect temperature.
The solution
Since 2015, Royal Unibrew has relied on TITAN for their refrigerated container needs.
Every year, we hold a meeting in the spring to get an overview of approximately how many refrigerated containers they will need during the upcoming festival season – so we can ensure we are always able to deliver what they require. We also account for the fact that some orders will come in on the fly.
Typically, Royal Unibrew rents the refrigerated containers for 4-6 days at a time, which amounts to about 60-70 containers, distributed across a string of festivals, throughout the summer.
About 90% of the refrigerated containers are 20 feet in size. The remaining 10% are 40 feet. And Royal Unibrew always opt for our ArcticStore model, which is perfect for keeping drinks beautifully cold.
The result
We have three contacts at TITAN Containers, and the collaboration is absolutely fantastic.
When I place an order, I don’t have to give it another thought. I don’t need to check up on it. The rest is just taken care of, and they deliver and collect at the promised times. It’s just wonderful.

I’ve never had an organiser call us to say a refrigerated container wasn’t working. The organiser of a major event in Odense recently said to me, ‘it doesn’t matter where you order a refrigerated container for me as long as it is from TITAN. Because then I know it works.
