CONTAINER DELIVERY GUIDE – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Prepare your site, clear the route and reduce delays. Discover what you need to do before one of our trucks arrives.

When you buy or rent a container from TITAN Australia, we’ll not only deliver it to your chosen address, but we’ll also do our best to position it exactly where you want it.

Our ability to do this will depend on several factors, including the location of your preferred installation site and the type of delivery truck we use.

When quoting, we always offer the cheapest delivery option. If the vehicle we have in mind isn’t quite right for your needs, we’ll suggest a more suitable alternative.

Here are the five types of truck we have at our disposal:

20ft Tilt-tray Truck

20FT TILT-TRAY TRUCK

Widely used for 10ft and 20ft container deliveries across Australia. While affordable, this option only suits deliveries where the truck can drive to the exact place you need your container, which slides off the back of the vehicle.

Perfect for: 10ft and 20ft containers.

Max height when unloading: 6m

Width: 3.5m

Length: 20m

HIAB Truck with Crane

HIAB CRANE TRUCK

The most versatile solution, Hiabs allow your driver to install your container almost anywhere.

Hiabs are fitted with a crane at the front or rear, which means your container can be lifted over an obstacle – such as a wall – when being positioned.

Perfect for: any container that needs to be placed in an ‘awkward’ spot.

Max height when unloading: 10m

Reach: up to 4m

Width: 3.5m

Length: 16m

Flatbed Truck

FLATBED TRUCK

Flatbeds are the cheapest option we offer – but you’ll need a lifting vehicle at the delivery site.

This is ideal for clients with a heavy-duty forklift or crane available.

Perfect for: reducing delivery fees (provided you can offload onsite).

Max height when unloading: 10m

Width: 3.5m

Length: 16m

Side-loader Semi-trailer

SIDE-LOADER SEMI-TRAILER

Similar to a Hiab but with a reduced reach, side-loaders use an in-built swing-arm system to offload the container from the driver’s side.

They are a good option when the chosen site for your container offers little room for a delivery vehicle in front of it, and a (cheaper) tilt-tray could be used.

Perfect for: placing a container right next to where your delivery vehicle can park.

Max height when unloading: 10m

Width: 3.5m

Length: 16m

40ft Tilt Truck

40FT SUPER-TILT TRUCK

This colossal vehicle makes light work of extra-large container deliveries. 40-footers are deposited from the rear of the truck, so you need lots of space in front of your chosen spot for the truck to get in and out.

And we do mean lots! You will need around 44m of clearance from where your container is positioned for the vehicle to be able to exit.

Perfect for: 40ft containers – unless they need to be lifted into place.

Max height when unloading: 6m

Width: 3.5m

Length: 40m

TITAN’S 6 TOP TIPS FOR A SUPER-SMOOTH DELIVERY

1. PREPARE A LEVEL AND STABLE FOUNDATION

Your container must be placed on a firm, stable, level surface. If it is going to be positioned in a garden or on sand or soil, you’ll probably need to prepare a foundation – ideally concrete, but gravel may be OK. This can help keep your container level, stop it sinking and prevent corrosion.

2. CLEAR SPACE FOR THE DELIVERY VEHICLE
3. CHECK YOU HAVE ORDERED THE RIGHT TRUCK
4. KNOW THE MAX WEIGHT FOR A LOADED CONTAINER
5. PRE-EMPT ALL PROBLEMS TO KEEP COSTS DOWN
6. CLEAN BEFORE YOU RETURN
