Container deliveries and collections throughout Australia

Choosing The Best Truck For The Job

When discussing the delivery of your shipping container, we will need to decide on which type of truck will be best suited to your site. Below is an overview of the main truck types we use, and what they can do.

Tilt Tray Truck

The tilt tray truck is ideal for 6m (20ft) container delivery to many locations. The container is loaded on the truck, so that the container doors are in the correct position once delivered. The truck must reverse to the delivery point where the tray of the truck tilts to the ground & the container slides off the back.

6m Tilt Tray Clearance Requirements:

Height – 4.8m (16')
Width – 3m (10')
Length – 12m (40')

Side Loader Truck

The side loader truck delivers the container by picking it up from the trucks chassis at each end of the container & lowering it onto the site directly next to the trucks' chassis. This method is ideal for delivery of containers that need to fit into constricted spaces. It is important to consider which way the container should be loaded onto the truck as it can only be unloaded from the right hand (drivers') side.

Side Loader Clearance Requirements:

H – 4.5m (15')
W – 6m (20')
L – 10m (33') for 6m Side Loader - 16m (66') for 12m Side Loader

HIAB Truck

The most flexible delivery method requiring minimal additional space. Depending upon the crane size all container sizes and types can be placed precisely where required.

HIAB or mobile crane is essential when delivering SuperStores and for circumstances where alternative delivery systems simply can not achieve the required container location.
